Job Seeking Process

We try and keep this flexible, as each therapist registering with us has his or her own particular needs.

eNZed Paramedical will not start seeking work for any therapist who has not at least applied for Professional Registration/ Membership. Most employers are simply not interested until you have actually been granted it. There are a few rare exceptions to this but you are wise not to plan on being one of these!

eNZed Paramedical would prefer to get your eNZed forms as soon as possible, even if your registration application is not ready to submit yet. This allows us to start our own processes of gathering referees reports etc so that we are ready to present you as an applicant at the earliest possible time.

Employers prefer to consider therapists whose expected date of arrival is within three- four months. Often they have already tried and failed to find a New Zealander before seeking the help of eNZed Paramedical and therefore the post is already vacant.

You will be shortlisted and submitted on the basis of your stated preferences and experience compared to the positions available.

When one of our client employers decides they would like to interview you for a position we will telephone you and outline the post. If you are interested in it, we will arrange a mutually convenient time for the NZ employer to conduct a telephone interview. At the same time, we will 'prep' you for interview with a discussion about how telephone interviews differ from face to face, the format to plan on and other useful tips. Job Descriptions will be sent to you by email if time allows, but they tend to be so generic that it's impossible to tell what the job is really like until after interview. The actual interview usually occurs within a week of us advising you, and the outcome is usually known within 1-2 working days of that.

Should the employer offer you the post and you accept, we liaise between them and you to ensure you get the required documents for your visa application etc.

If you are planning extensive travel between leaving your own country and arrival in New Zealand, it may not be possible to get a job offer confirmed before you leave due to the time lag. We will liaise with you as you travel around via e-mail. We strongly recommend on checking your email regularly (at least once a week) during your travels. When it reaches interview stage, you will need to find a landline number at which you can receive a call which could last up to one hour.

"While it took some time to focus in on what area I wanted in New Zealand, once locked into this process eNZed Paramedical proved to be what I had hoped for; communicative, highly efficient and giving objective advice—added to this was a very human side that both calmed me prior to interview but looked out for my well being once contractual details were being discussed. I would recommend them to anyone who seeks to do what I have achieved, thankfully, with their help."
